It was a rainy day in January for Melissa and Gregg’s wedding but mother nature still provided us just enough beautiful light streaming through the windows of the Citizens Hotel in downtown Sacramento. The hotel’s historic charm became an elegant backdrop for this gorgeous winter wedding.
I met Melissa and Gregg at Nicole and Derek’s wedding in May of last year (click here to see their wedding too!) Melissa is Nicole’s cousin and I was so thrilled when she contacted me to photograph her own wedding. They are such a sweet couple and when I photographed them during the summer for their engagement session they told me they met on January 21st so naturally they choose this date to say their “I Do’s.” Melissa also has two beautiful girls, who you will probably recognize as flowers girls from Nicole and Derek’s wedding.
My favorite part of the wedding was after Gregg said his written vows to Melissa, he then got down on his knee to say vows to her precious girls. It was so beautiful!! From the ceremony to the heart felt toasts from loved ones it was a bit of a tear jerker and I couldn’t help but cry out of pure joy for this sweet couple. I’ve said it many times but I will say it again this is why I love what I do!! It’s times like this where I feel truly blessed that I was part of something so special.
