Sometimes difficult circumstances lead us to a deeper appreciation for quality family time together. No one wants to face unforeseen health problems, but when a family experiences trying times together, they come out even stronger on the other side.
As is the case with the Melnichuk Family. Mark’s wife, Love, woke up one night to find him seizing in his sleep. Subsequent seizures were so intense they were injuring his spine and shoulders. After several visits to the ER and struggling to find answers, they learned he had a cavernoma (cluster of abnormal blood vessels) in his brain that was causing the seizures as well as some damaging muscle breakdown around his kidneys. They were able to schedule a necessary brain surgery to remove the cavernoma a little over a month after his first episode. He did wonderfully, and the surgery was successful!
After such a terrifying time, the Melnichuk’s wanted to make a point spend as much family time together as possible. His full recovery after such a scary diagnosis and following surgery was a huge blessing, and they decided to mark this incredible point in their family’s story with a family photo session. What an honor it was to capture these beautiful, priceless images for them.
They wanted a relaxing outdoor session, so we headed out to the most scenic place I know: Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm. The lavender wasn’t in bloom on this toasty July evening, but the grounds are so beautiful. Tranquil ponds, gorgeous shade trees, and tall wispy grass make the farm the perfect place to get away and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Their amazing kiddos, Nathan and Emma, were such a joy to be around. They are so warm and personable, they felt like family. I truly had a wonderful time taking these photos for them. Much love to this special family!
