I recently held a senior session giveaway on Instagram for the class of 2020. I really feel for them during this crazy time! Manuri won the giveaway, so we held an outdoor senior session at Sutter Creek. Sutter Creek is a cute town right outside of Sacramento, California in the heart of the Sierra Foothill Wine Country. It’s such a great place to shoot, and we had so much fun walking around! We went shortly before sunset, so we could get the best lighting possible. It made for some awesome photos.
When it comes to senior sessions, I focus on making them feel comfortable and relaxed. Photo shoots can be nerve-wracking, especially if you’re not used to being in front of a camera! I prefer to avoid doing a lot of posed pictures. Instead, I focus on getting them walking around and moving. This helps make them feel more comfortable. Manuri and I started by taking some photos around the shops downtown since they have such cute curb appeal!
I also make sure to ask my senior session clients all about their future plans. Manuri is going to the University of California Santa Barbara. She’s going to be playing on the women’s soccer team and majoring in Statistics and Data Science. So, we made sure to get some pictures of her in a USCB shirt at the end of the shoot. I love those photos, and she looks so happy and relaxed. It was just a great session.
I love shooting senior sessions, and I was happy to be able to give one away. It’s been a rough year for seniors! Senior sessions are a great way to commemorate your senior’s final year. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate their future. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate your senior, I would love to help!
