Ian and Michelle – Grace Vineyards, Galt, CA

Sweet, genuine, and warm spirited is what comes to mind when I think of these two. When I first met them both I immediately felt at ease and comfortable. They made me feel like I was a life long friend they just hadn’t seen in awhile. They are the sweetest couple ever and it was an honor to be able to capture their beautiful day!! They have so much love and respect for one another and I could tell that Ian is a hopeless romantic so I just had to ask how he proposed. In her own words Michelle describes the proposal…

“He proposed to me in Santa Cruz on November 9, 2013. It was around 5:30, the marine layer had come in earlier and it was around sunset but already very dark. We were at the lighthouse by the boardwalk watching the surfers and listening to the sea lion and seal on the rock in the distanced. I asked Ian if he wanted to hang around longer or get something to eat, he didn’t really answer me right then, so I asked him what was the difference between a sea lions and seals, and then began to look it up on my iphone. As I was researching on my phone, Ian standing behind me, says he has an idea but needs to tie his shoe first. I’m still preoccupied with my phone when he says that, so he bumps my leg and I turn around to see him on one knee and simply asking “will you marry me?” It was dark at the time so I kind of saw him holding something in his hand, and it all took me by surpirse. I kept saying, “Really? Really? You mean it? You’re not kidding?” Ian stood up by then and was not expecting my surprised reaction. He had to reassure me that he was being serious until I finally said “yes, of course!” It was really perfect because he took me to one of my favorite places, it was kind of secluded and not in front of a ton of people (something I wanted)…”

I can just picture the beautiful surroundings, the sunset, the waves crashing, the lighthouse while he asked her to marry him. Ahhhh…So sweet! If you haven’t seen their engagement session photos, click here to view their blog post of my favorites.

They choose to say their “I DO’s” at the beautiful Grace Vineyards. When I arrived I was in awe with how beautiful this place is. Tucked away in Galt, CA just next to Lodi you will find a gorgeous estate surrounded by vineyards. From the amazing ceremony space that is surrounded by lush flowers and trees, to the serene vineyards and beautiful courtyard this place is magical. The perfect place for Ian and Michelle’s nuptials and for their family and friends to celebrate.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson! May God bless your marriage always!
