My husband, Dean and I decided to go up to Lotus and spend the weekend with my parents. “Lotusing” was much needed after Dean spent the week on a business trip to Vegas and I dealing with our internet connection problems at home. Yes, all week I was without internet and really could not get any work done, constantly having workers from the internet company come to the house to try to figure out what was wrong. Ugh!! Lotus was calling my name.
If you are totally confused about what I am talking about I did write a blog called “Lotusing Thanksgiving Day” that you can read about here. Lotus is a true blessing to our family and I just love spending time there. My parents recently decided to move and live there full time which is great for Dean and I because it is a short 45min drive from where we currently live. For the past month or so we have been so busy and into our new life here in California. Last week I got a call from my Mom telling me that they missed us (ahhh!) and were hoping we would be able to come up soon and hang out. I thought this weekend would be perfect. The forecast predicted lots of rain which meant no golfing for Dean, just chillaxin in Lotus by the fire, watching movies and eating my Mom’s amazing cooking.
It was so nice to just relax and listen to the rain! And it didn’t just rain it poured! I think my rain dance worked! California was in dire need of it so we were all happy to get all the rain we did this weekend. Falling asleep to it Saturday night was music to my ears. On Sunday morning my mom made us the best Lotus breakfast and then after being cooped up in the house all weekend we decided to get on our rainboots and take a walk around the property. No matter what time of the year it is Lotus is so beautiful! Of course I had to bring my camera along and take a few shots. Here are some photos I took on our walk through the Lotus property…
Aren’t my parents cute!? I just love them 🙂
We have a little creek that flows through the back of the property. For the past couple of months it was really low and today it was flowing beautifully!
I just love all the moss growing on the side of the trees. My Dad works really hard keeping the property nice and clean. Every once and while we have work parties and family members are welcome to come up and help to clear out the brush.
It is the ultimate dog park too! My Dog Tucker (on the right) thinks it is wonderland. Brando (my parents Bull mastiff on the left) is always there to greet us.
