Three years ago, I had the joy of being able to shoot Paul and Karen’s wedding at Gold Hill Gardens. It was a beautiful day, and I loved working with them. Now, they’re having a baby, and I had the pleasure of being able to work with them again for a Sacramento maternity session! They’re having a girl, and they’re going to name her Sophia Evelyn Ramey, which is a cute name!

Sacramento Maternity Session at WPA Rock Garden

For Paul and Karen’s maternity session, we decided to go to the WPA Rock Garden in Sacramento, California. I’ve done a maternity session at WPA Rock Garden before, and it turned out beautiful. It’s a little bit of a hidden gem when it comes to photoshoots, but it’s such a great spot for Sacramento maternity sessions.

There are many places that make for a great backdrop. True to its name, the garden has many rock structures and benches, and these places work well for pictures. Not to mention, there are tons of flowers at the WPA Rock Garden, and flowers always make for beautiful photos. As time went on, the sun was in the perfect position to add in some pretty lighting.

They decided to bring one prop, which was a little pair of pink baby shoes. This turned out to be a great idea because the photos with the shoes are so cute. The pink shoes complemented their clothing well too! I loved Karen’s dress, and Paul’s outfit matched her perfectly.

Paul and Karen are a lovely and outgoing couple. They like going on hikes with their puppy named Koda, traveling, drinking wine, and BBQing with their friends. So, you can see why a photoshoot with them would be enjoyable!
